Me and You and A Man Named Job
Christopher Lyn Toedt and Amy Michelle Howard
We are blessed to have this opportunity to share with you in this our first in a series of self help books. We are going to share with you how we have coped successfully with these challenges for many years. It has not always been easy, but we have learned to adapt and bend in the storms and adversity is a part of life.We hope and pray that we can help you to learn how to make your life somewhat easier, more enjoyable, tranquil and give you some much needed insight into your particular situations and possibly show you some different ideas to try.We have found many times that a few minor adjustments and a little bit of tweaking was all that was necessary to bring about great changes in our lives.Through reading the Holy Scriptures we have seen many spiritual truths that have opened our eyes. We are aware that God’s Holy Word holds many answers to our physical and mental problems.A great attitude is key.
We have become increasingly aware that we somehow held part of the key in getting better physically and mentally.A pity party was not going to help.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.
:23 Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were printed in a book!
:24 That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in a rock forever!
Job was a Godly Man, not a sinless man but upright in his life. The wealthiest man in all the East in his time. And yet he suffered Heavy losses of all ten children, his entire holdings of livestock, all but four of his servants and his wife who was not much help during his time of Affection.Possibly his most difficult experience were the physical and mental afflictions that Satan with God’s permission laid upon him.
Let’s face it, there are going to be changes in our lives and some of them are going to be downright challenging. They are an important Part of your life when you have chronic conditions and afflictions.Learn to laugh in the face of adversity. A good sense of humor will make a huge difference.
Acceptance is the key. Hardship brings maturity into our lives. We resist change in our lives. It’s human nature. It’s also human nature to wet your pants.
